Everybody breathes but I treasure every breath

I see the importance when I witness your every step

As subtle as they are your footprints are left in my thoughts

Inhale, exhale, thank you for that breath

Each breath gets shorter as your footsteps get close

Nervousness takes over as if my heart only knows

But I feel you headed in my direction

Inhale, exhale, thank you for that breath

 

When we’re apart my breath is so constricted

But your there when I blink so that breath isn’t so restricted

You even walk through my daydreams

Inhale, exhale, thank you for that breath

When you lie asleep and your steps aren’t there

I’ll wake up and cross the room hoping that you hear

Not to wake you up but to maybe walk through your dream

Inhale, exhale, thank you for that breath
